Composition

• Typed or computer printed (Times or Times Roman font)
• Plain white paper, 8.5 by 11 inches
• One inch margin on all sides
• No illustrations
• Double spaced (except for poems which may be single spaced)
• Type size no more than 12 characters per inch and no less than 10-point
• Title of the entry at top of each page
• Pages numbered consecutively
• No mention of contestant's name within the composition
• Proofread for grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Length

• Prose at least 400, no more than 1000 words (not counting bibliography)
• Poem: at least 35 (not including bibliography)

Bibliography

• At least two sources cited
• Sources not all from the Internet

Entry Deadline
